Description
We provide person-centric advice and support to Veterans and their families throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians through our ‘drop-in’ centre and external events and activities. We are located in Dalkeith, Midlothian, where we have been since 2009. The support we provide covers a wide range of issues, not least challenges associated with service and transition into civilian life, particularly amongst those who have suffered and/or been disadvantaged as a result of their service including, male Veterans, female Veterans, LGBT+ Veterans, non-UK and Commonwealth Veterans and families of Veterans. We are signed up to Fighting with Pride’s Pride in Veterans Standards. We have a small team of dedicated staff readily available to tackle any challenges that present, however minor or complex. We are also a Warm Hub offering free Wi-Fi, TV, digital access, hot drinks and meals every weekday to help those struggling financially with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, and with social isolation and loneliness. We organise various sporting and social events and activities which provide the opportunity to create new friendships, rekindle old ones and indulge in some military banter. We have something for everyone at Lothians Veterans Centre; our events and activities are a great source of enjoyment.
